Using the Fill it Forward app and Container Tags, food service operators can now track their reusable container fleet.
Guests can rent and return a reusable container when they visit a participating dining location. With each reuse, users are able to track their environmental impact while helping to support charitable projects which give back. Send helpful in-app reminders and celebrate your community, people, and the planet.

HOW IT WORKS
Download the free Fill it Forward app from the Google Play or Apple App Store.
Step 1: First Deposit
Guests pay a one-time, non-refundable fee for their first container at checkout. Organizations have often chosen to provide the first rental free.
Step 2: Rental
For the first deposit, staff provide a Rental Slip with a unique pin number. Guests scan the QR Code on the container and show the in-app rental checkmark.
Step 3: Return
At a drop-off location, guests scan a Return Poster and their container. Now a credit appears in the app.
Step 4:
Reuse and repeat!
Frequently Asked Questions
The lifetime of our QR code is estimated at two to three years. When Tags are first applied to containers, they must dry for 24 hours before the first washing.
Container Tags are not customizable to ensure QR code accuracy and program consistency.
There is no limit to how many containers a user can rent. The number of containers a user has checked out can be seen on the Fill it Forward App by clicking the ‘Profile icon’ and then selecting ‘Rentals’. In order to increase your number of containers, you must pay the deposit for each new reuse. Once you have returned a container, a credit will show in the Rentals section of your profile.
The Container Tags are shipped on sticker rolls. It is the responsibility of the food service manager to stick these tags on all containers. We highly recommend that the food service manager starts by placing each container on a flat surface.
The QR code is unique to the school, not the container. A student can pick up any container which is different from the one rented (i.e., roommate) and return it.
