A Partnership with Purpose
Access to clean water is something many of us take for granted—but for 703 million people, it’s still out of reach. One in five people (1.5 billion) lack access to a decent toilet, and nearly one in four (2 billion) lack basic access to soap and water for handwashing at home. These staggering numbers reflect a crisis that demands urgent, sustained action.
At Fill it Forward, we believe change happens when we come together—and WaterAid has been one of our most impactful partners in that journey. As an international nonprofit in 35 countries, WaterAid is committed to making clean water, decent toilets, and good hygiene a reality for everyone, everywhere.
Since partnering with WaterAid in 2019, we’ve been united by a shared purpose: creating access to the basics of life in a sustainable, community-first way.
Impact to Date
Every time someone reuses their bottle and scans their Fill it Forward tag, they help unlock a donation to a giving project—including many of WaterAid’s clean water programs. Thanks to the Fill it Forward community and our partners, we’ve been able to donate over $208,000 to fund numerous WaterAid initiatives around the world.
That impact spans countries and continents—from installing safe water taps in rural schools to improving sanitation at maternal health centers.
In Gaya and Madhubani, India, WaterAid is helping communities build resilience against floods and droughts by improving access to clean water, decent toilets, and hygiene facilities. Through youth-led programs and support for women-led WASH businesses, the project is driving long-term health and economic opportunity.
